CODE4EV at the ITS European Congress
CODE4EV was invited to participate in a panel discussion on “Software-defined vehicles: innovation, collaboration and competitiveness in the automotive industry.”
The session was moderated by Peter Priller (FEDERATE) and featured contributions from Velimira Grau (European Commission), Stefano Persi (TWIN-LOOP), and Edin Arnautovic (HAL4SDV, Shift2SDV).
Eric Armengaud represented the CODE4EV project on site and contributed to the discussion on the future of software-defined vehicles (SDV).
Key outcomes:
- The concept of SDV is a key innovation vector enabling impact creation in diverse domains and for diverse stakeholders (e.g., reducing development time, enabling continuous update, increasing energy efficiency)
- Innovation is strongly linked with the capability to introduce data-driven services and innovative SW development processes in the automotive development lifecyle. Still, the consistency of the SW services with advanced mechatronics systems and components is key to unleash innovation and ensure safe operation
- Open Innovation, understood as the capability to speed-up the onboarding with potential customers / suppliers / technology partners toward a common development target, while respecting the IPs and business logic of all participants is key.
- The collaborative development framework developed in CODE4EV, integrating a model-based systems engineering environment and an innovative distributed XIL platform for joint V&V activities, is acting as accelerator for open innovation.
